School Advisory Council

The School Advisory Council (SAC) is composed of interested parents, staff, and community members whose collective goal is to improve student achievement and facilitate the development of a supportive climate at our school. The SAC meets once a month to plan, develop, implement, and monitor the School Improvement Plan for Sun Blaze Elementary School. All SAC meetings are Tuesday and begin at 5:00pm

The purpose of SAC is to:

  • Assist the principal in developing and evaluating the School Improvement Plan
  • Decide how funds for school improvement will be spent
  • Assist in prioritizing the needs of the school
  • Assist in developing strategies to improve the areas of need
  • Select and/or develop long-range objectives
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual school budget

SAC Member Responsibilities:

  • Work with parents, staff, administrators, and other community representatives to assist in the development of the School Improvement Plan to improve the performance of all students
  • Participate in all regularly scheduled SAC meetings
  • Participate in activities and training related to learning about the school improvement process
  • Participate in efforts to encourage support for the goals of the school

Below are the amended bylaws and will be posted for 30 days and SAC will vote to approve the bylaws on 1.8.19 at the January SAC meeting
